Myofascial cupping is a form of trigger point therapy and myofascial release. This therapy combines massage and stretching techniques with the use of pressurised cups. Soft tissue is suctioned inside the cups, allowing for fluid movement and nutrient supply to the tissues. The movement of fluid detoxifies, stimulates, and increases range of motion.
This pain management technique is helpful for parts of the body that are used a lot or in fixed positions for a long time. These areas include the neck, shoulders, arms, lower back, hips, quads, calves and feet.
Myofascial Cupping has many benefits including:
- Breaks up scar tissue build up
- Puts a passive stretch on soft tissue
- General pain relief and increase of circulation
- Separate layers of connective tissue to bring hydration and blood flow to body tissue
- Relieve deep muscular issues and reduce muscle spasms
- Lift and stretch soft tissue to separate fascial restrictions
